Nissan has announced its involvement in a radical new motorsport project, dubbed the DeltaWing, which will race at the Le Mans 24 Hours this summer using Nissan power. The car is the work of Ben Bowlby who originally designed the car as a proposal for the 2012 IndyCar racer, which has since found the attention of Nissan after its rejection by the American race championship. The headlines of the design are that it's half the weight and has half the aerodynamic drag of a conventional racer and is therefore far more efficient.
The Nissan LEAF EV broke the record for the fastest reversing over a mile at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and we have it on video. Last week we reported that as part of its ‘Big Turn On ‘ campaign to get the world ‘switched on’ to electric cars Nissan were going to have a crack at the world record for going backwards for a mile in a car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. In a dominant display at the Hungaroring. Lewis Hamilton has put McLaren on pole for tommorow’s Hungarian Grand Prix. We said after last week’s German Grand Prix that it looks like McLaren has found the speed that’s been eluding them lately, and if Hamilton’s qualifying for tomorrow’s Grand Prix at the Hungaroring is anything to go by they’ve not only found the speed they’d lost but a bit more too.
